Department of Homeland Security Graduate Fellowships
Support to US students interested in pursuing scientific and technological innovations applicable to homeland security.
- $27,600 stipend + tuition and fees
- Portable to any US accredited college or university
- Renewable up to three years
- Internships at DHS-designated facility required
Environmental Protection Agency
GRO Undergraduate Fellowships:
Elibible students will receive support for their junior and senior years of undergraduate study and for an internship at an EPA facility.
- Up to $17,000 per year of academic support
- Up to $7,500 of internship support
STAR Graduate Fellowships:
To support students pursuing an MS or PhD in Environmental Sciences.
- Up to $37,000 support per year
The Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships
Support for students intending to study a research-based field in the sciences, social sciences, or humanities.
- $19,000 stipend + $3,000 cost of education allowance
- Portable to any fully accredited nonprofit US institution of higher education offering PhD or ScD degrees in the fields eligible for support
- Dissertation and postdoctoral fellowships also available
The National GEM Consortium
Support for underrepresented minorities in engineering and science.
- Portable fellowships to 90 Universities nationwide
- $10,000 minimum stipend over 3 semesters/4 quarters for the MS Engineering Fellowship Program
- $14,000 minimum academic year stipend for 5 years for the PhD Science Fellowship Program
- $14,000 minimum academic year stipend for 5 years for the PhD Engineering Fellowship Program
- Summer Internships at 45 Company Members
National Institute of Health, NIH
Support for students biomedical, behavioral, and helath services with an emphasis on enhancing the racial and ethnic diversity of these fields.
The National Physical Science Consortium
Support for students pursuing the physical sciences and engineering with an emphasis on women and underrepresented minorities.
- Employer provides stipend, currently $16,000
- portable to 116 participating universities
- Up to six years of full support
- Fellows intern for first two summers with employer
NOAA: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Support for Juniors and Seniors at Minority Serving Institutions who are majoring in atmospheric, oceanic, or environmental disciplines.
- 10 week paid internships at a NOAA office
- Up to $4,000 per year in tuition support
Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Support for Undergraduates pursuing oceanic and atmospheric sciences.
- $8,000 per year academic support (1 -2 years)
- $6,500 for a 10 week internship position
Graduate Sciences Program
Support for students pursuing atmospheric, environmental, romote sensing, and oceanic sciences research with an emphasis on minority serving institutions.
Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship
For those pursuing an MS or PhD in oceanography, maritime archaelogy or marine biology. 12 month stipend of $20,000
- $12,000 cost of education allowance
- $20,000 to support a 4-6 week research collaboration at a NOAA facility
Sloan Foundation PhD Program
Focused on increasing the number of new minority PhD students in engineering, natural science, or mathematics.
