AMIE: Advancing Minorities Interest in Engineering: a non-profit organization created to provide a proactive approach to fostering diversity as an essential business strategy. The outcome of an initiative by Abbott Laboratories in 1992, AMIE is a coalition of representatives and engineering professionals from Fortune 500 companies and the ABET accredited Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) who see a diversified workforce as a competitive advantage.
